Continuity: The state or quality of being continuous. Certainly important for our species to take seriously if we appreciate and enjoy the gradual advancements from barbarism to civilizations that we have accomplished. In 10,000 years, a mere speck of time within eternity, we have progressed from simple hand tools to spacecrafts, lasers, skyscrapers, and technologies which have connected our entire planet at the touch of a button or a whisper. However, in that gradual advancement of science and technology we have simultaneously created tools that may end or seriously undermine our continuity. A mantra used in daily life is a repeated slogan that serves as a core principle or source of motivation. With concern for the continuity of our species we could chant one profound mantra: NO MORE WAR! NO MORE WAR! NO MORE WAR! Ironically, the supposed ‘Liberal Democracies’, who pretend to protect the rights of minorities, do not extend that policy outside of their own borders. Historically humanity has competed and fought over land, workforces, and resources on a dynastic level. Over time those great dynasties dwindled down into about 200 individual countries with specific borders. If we are to maintain our continuity of humans it makes sense that ‘Liberal Democracy’ would mean that each country would respect and honor the security concerns of each and every other country. The majorities or bigger countries would and should honor and respect the ideas and cultures of smaller countries. The totalitarian regimes of the 20th century were massive failures and now the emerging Techno-Feudal state with no borders is upon us. “The strong do what they can and the weak do what they must” (Thucydides). Fine, we the masses understand that, but why these bloody, wasteful, and catastrophic wars which serve no purpose except line the pockets of the military-industrial-media-complex!
